A photo documentation of what happens when you grow hydroponic.
This page will show by photos what happens when you take a stick of a tomato plant and a
spindly pepper plant , and plant them together in a hydroponic 5 gallon bucket.  Check Back for
weekly updates.
Hydroponic
Experiment
Take a 16 ounce plastic cup and cut, burn or
drill a bunch of holes in the bottom and 1/4 way
up the cup. .  The method you use to make the
holes in the cup is your choice.
The victims are one grape sugary tomato
plant, left over in our green house from
spring, (on left) and one regular size tomato
on right).  As you can see they are in pretty
bad shape.
Place a little peat moss in the bottom of the
cup filling the cup about 1/4 full.  Place your
plant in.
Fill in with more peat moss.   it's better to use
sterile hydroponic mediums.
It's also better to plant in a mesh hydroponic
basket, grow cubes, or other hydroponic
materials.
Here I just finished putting in a pathetic
pepper plant .
Don't forget to put in your air stone.
Completed set up includes 1 sugary cherry
tomato plant, one regular sized tomato plant,
and two pepper plants.  Air is supplied by a
small aquarium air pump.  Check out the
weeds in the background.

Week 1 shows new growth and the
small green pepper is now twice as
big and red.
Cut holes in top of bucket with 2" hole saw.
Fill the bucket with feeding solution. I'm using
my own adjustable  blend available by
emailing me.  I'm finding this to work just as
well as the more expensive hydroponic
solutions
